Bug Jam 22

Bug Jam 20 Report - Bug Jam 20 Gallery

The week running up to Bug Jam was one of the hottest on record, and the scene was set for a sweltering weekend of fun in the sun at Bug Jam 20. It's become the norm in recent times for huge quantities of eager dubbers to be queuing outside the gates well before they open on Friday morning, and Bug Jam 20 was no different. From the moment they opened at 8am through to late that night, thousands upon thousands of awesome VWs streamed through the gates of Santa Pod, filling the site to capacity in record time.

The Bank

Once tents were set up and awnings erected, the action kicked off on the track with Run What Ya Brung, and everything from Schwimmwagens to late-model Golfs were out tearing up the hot, sticky track. Once the sun started to set and the track was closed down, the evening entertainment was what it was all about, and no matter what your taste in music, there was something for you to rock out to, from live bands and indie disco through to rap and a good old fashioned rave-up. Everyone loved the "seeing double" tribute acts on the main stage, especially the awesome Michael Jackson tribute, Navi.

Miss Bug Jam

Saturday started off bleary-eyed and as hot and humid as the tropics, and it wasn't long before the track opened for more Run What Ya Brung, which included runs by the fantastic Super Mods and Street Eliminator cars, and demo runs from the astounding Fireforce! Over in the Feature Zone, the Bound and Gagged comedy tent kept people amused who wanted to keep out of the sun.. and then it all changed! At around 1:30pm, the biggest most evil-looking thunder cloud dumped monsoon weather onto Santa Pod, and brought a halt to the racing and produced some very strange behaviour from some people too! I guess when you're soaked through, you might as well just go naked! The rain stopped at around 5pm, but it was too late to reopen the track, so onto more great music on all four stages and another top night dancing the night away. Unfortunately, some problems with the power supply meant that the music was temporarily interrupted- thanks for your patience whilst we fixed it.

Fireforce

Sunday is the serious day where the cars are the stars, and the weather was spot on throughout.
