Demo Vehicles at Bug Jam 22

As well as the Run What Ya Brung and VWRC drag racing, throughout the weekend there will be demo and stunt vehicles entertaining the crowds on and off the track.

Fireforce Jet Car

Fireforce 3 is a world record-breaking Jet Funny Car, clocking the fastest terminal speed of any jet powered car on the planet at Santa Pod's Easter Thunderball 2005.

The Chevrolet Lumina bodied machine has a Pratt and Whitney JFTD12A (J60) engine from a Sikorsky CH-54A Skycrane Helicopter in its chrome-moly constructed chassis. This develops over 5000lbs of thrust and approximately 10,000hp, as it guzzles 120 litres of aviation fuel per appearance on track!

The driver experiences mind boggling G forces in this machine, with up to 4G during acceleration and up to 7G negative during deceleration.

The stopping power of this incredibly fast car comes from two quad form parachutes used in conjunction with independent hydraulic brakes systems. The car is driven using throttle / afterburner control to determine the thrust from the jet. FireForce runs approximately 30 weekends in a year with an average of 2-3 runs per weekend.

Firestorm

Roger Goring's Firestorm Jet Funny Car will be joining Fireforce at Bug Jam 22.

Roger drives Firestorm from infront of the F5 strike-fighter engine, a position that theoretically provides better weight distribution, but also demands bravery beyond that of mere mortals!

Terry Grant

Terry Grant is an international legend when it comes to stunt driving. This man has created a brand of stunt show unlike any other. You will be amazed as you watch him throw his car from side to side sliding around obstacles and people, stand on the roof of his moving vehicle, do mind boggling donuts and even drifting around an un-manned moving vehicle. You name it, he can do it. At Bug Jam 22 for the first time ever Terry will be using a purpose built Beetle.

Jet Beetle

Ronnie Picardo's flame-throwing Blue Max Beetle was built for Bug Jam 2004 and has been a massive success since! This car uses the original chassis and body panels and has full working electrics and MOT.

Monster Trucks

Santa Pod's own Podzilla will be crushing everything in it's path on Saturday and Sunday. Get ready to cheer as Novas and Saxos get what's coming.

'Podzilla' is based on a Chevy K1500 truck with a 427ci talldeck Chevy motor upped to 500ci, that works out to around 8.2 litres. The blown and injected motor produces some 1350bhp on methanol that propels the five ton monster to speeds of 65mph and 0 to 60mph is reached within 6 seconds.

Freestyle Motocross

UKFMX bring to you the UK’s hottest FMX riders in an action packed airborne battle to decide who can pull the best trick, the biggest air, or the sickest whip. You can expect to see some crazy riding from these professionals as they throw their bikes from one massive ramp to the next!
